Exactly 135 days following the previous coach's initial media briefing as Rangers head coach, successor Danny Rohl faced reporters at Rangers' stadium for the initial occasion.

The magnitude of the challenge facing him is widely recognized, given his predecessor's turbulent and disappointing four-month spell.

The former Wednesday manager was joined by chairman the chairman, along with the frequently questioned duo of sporting director Kevin Thelwell and CEO Patrick Stewart.

However, what precisely did we learn from the 36-year-old coach's maiden media outing as the club's manager?

The Manager's Primary Focus - Victory is Everything

A single message emerged loud and clear from the new coach's first appearance before the Scottish media - he understands the need to win matches, and achieve this rapidly.

His predecessor Martin managed just 17 matches and four months as manager, so the inquiry emerged about what timeframe the new man thinks is reasonable to transform the underperforming squad.

While skillfully avoiding a direct answer that could bring later expectations, the coach's message was quite clear.

"With hope as soon as possible," he stated. "This is essential.
"In this business you have limited time. You can discuss long-term vision but we know it's about immediate results and the short-term involves securing victories. This is my requirement.
"Another aspect remains obvious - I need every squad member to understand how we want to play. I return to my primary message: it's winning, entertaining football and unity. If you follow this sequence, I'm convinced that I'll stay for years here."

Pressure is Standard

Danny Rohl press conference

Martin required security protection to exit the Falkirk Stadium after his last match as manager.

We've seen how hostile environments can turn at football clubs when performances are poor. Demonstrations have nearly become an expected part of the matchday atmosphere on both sides of the city currently.

As Rangers' youngest manager in history, the question asked about what qualities Rohl believes he has that would allow him to cope, never mind thrive, in among the highest-pressure roles in British football?

"I think pressure in football are standard," he commented. "You must learn that rapidly.
"I believe certain individuals could reference my youth but I have been a decade and a half on this path. I experienced an excellent opportunity to work with the German club and serve as just the assistant manager, but I felt what it means to manage a team and the demands involved.
"When you start getting results and then some critics claim you must play attractive football. That becomes the stage but that's exactly my intention. I enjoy that challenge and I'm excited for what's ahead."

The Sporting Director Defends Striker Acquisition & Hiring Family Member

Kevin Thelwell media conference

There were plenty of inquiries from journalists directed at Thelwell.

Much discussion has focused on the appointment of Robbie Thelwell as head of recruitment, with fans skeptical about his qualifications for the role.

Nevertheless, he justified and clarified the choice to bring Thelwell Jnr to Ibrox.

"It remains awkward to listen and in appearance I think everyone understood when we made this step to hire him that he'd be seen in a particular way," Thelwell stated.
"The truth of circumstances is that we want to attract the top players to this club.
"My view on Robbie's career and situation is he required no my assistance in football.
"He served at Aston Villa as a senior scout, he then joined Norwich City as head of scouting and then was elevated to development role.
"Prior to our hiring him, two Premier League clubs sought to sign him. Our approach from the beginning of the process was consult with the CEO, the chairman and vice-chairman Marathe about this matter.
"I remained extremely open and I believe Robbie probably underwent a more rigorous process than anybody else employee by this football club.
"What I do know is that he'll labor 25/8 to achieve success for Rangers and I anticipate seeing him proving that he's going to be a valuable staff member for Rangers."

Thelwell also defended the signing of striker Youssef Chermiti, who joined Rangers for an alleged first payment of eight million pounds, after failing to find the net in 24 appearances for Everton.

It was Thelwell who brought the Portugal youth international to Merseyside from Sporting - once more for significant money in a £15m transfer.

He was asked if he supports his multi-million pound purchase, who hasn't yet register in seven matches for Rangers.

"Absolutely, very much so," Thelwell responded. "I believe Youssef Chermiti is a player who's got huge potential.
"I've never doubted him in any way. Similarly, I think Danny will assist in maximize the potential out of the player.
"It's very initial stages for the young player, he's a young talent and naturally with young talents they sometimes take time.
"But I'm certain throughout of his career here he's going to prove that he's a highly capable player."

The CEO Understands Supporters' Disappointment and Hurt

The chief executive was in the media firing line, considering the vitriol that has been aimed at him by some club fans.

There was even a banner in the Sandy Jardine stand during the recent draw with Dundee United inviting him - and Thelwell - to depart before they were packed for them.

Similar to the football director, the CEO did not avoid the issue.

"I completely appreciate the frustration and anger that the supporters are experiencing because results this season haven't been expectations and nobody's happy with them," he said.
"The hurt and frustration they feel is mirrored within the leadership.
"Recognize that there has to be an outlet for those frustrations and as chief executive, that's me.
"I serve as lightning rod for such issues and my role as a
